Sports Psychology Workshops
Workshops are lecture and interactive based focusing on skills, strategies, and activities established in sport psychology and performance theory. Workshops are intended to take 3 hrs each over the duration of 1-3 days.
Workshop #1: Making Your Mindset an Asset: Mental Training Skills for Mental Toughness
- Enhance confidence, self-talk and body language
- Establish consistent performance routines
- Understand the benefits of visualization and imagery
- Control situational demands in the environment
- Discuss the stress process and performance anxiety
- Discover the impact of arousal on performance
- Develop strategies to reduce stress and anxiety
- Increase focus and attention on task relevant cues
Workshop #3: Developing and Modeling Effective Coach Leadership
- Define leadership and identify effective qualities
- Broaden situational leadership skills
- Develop situational leadership styles
- Understand the stages of group development
- Define leadership and identify effective qualities
- Learn to be a leader by example and vocal leader
- Discuss barriers to effective leadership
- Explore captainship and team member roles
- Learn strategies to increase motivation in others
- Discover how to set and adhere to “SMART” goals
- Increase cohesion through team building activities
- Understand the stages of group development
